Allen Weh announces Mora County campaign team
Educators to mobilize voters, organize volunteers
ALBUQUERQUE — New Mexico businessman and gubernatorial candidate Allen Weh announced today that he has added two more experienced volunteers to his growing team.
Roger A. Gonzales and Karen Sickler have signed on as campaign co-chairs in Mora County. They will be tasked with organizing events and bringing together Weh’s many supporters in northern New Mexico.
Gonzales serves as director of institutional support and advancement at Mora Independent School District. He is a veteran campaigner, working on Sen. Pete Domenici’s 2002 race and serving as a liaison for the state Republican Party. Gonzales said he is supporting Weh because he understands the needs of rural New Mexicans.
Sickler is an English teacher at Mora Independent School District who has long been active in her community, working with at-risk youth for seven years at Rancho Valmora. This is Sickler’s first campaign, and she said Weh’s commitment to the state’s education system motivated her to get involved.
“Roger and Karen understand that this state’s future lies in its schools,” Weh said. “With their help, we can continue to spread the word throughout New Mexico that our state deserves better than the status quo.”
