Weh Talks Constitution, Trusted Leadership, States’ Rights
Candidate for Governor receives warm welcome, much encouragement from debate attendees in Clovis
ALBUQUERQUE — New Mexico businessman and gubernatorial candidate Allen Weh told Clovis voters Thursday evening that he intends to change the way we do business in Santa Fe.
“I intend to change the way we do business in Santa Fe and get this state’s economy back on track,” Weh said. “At the end of it, state government will be smaller, leaner and more efficient. And when I’m done being your governor, I’m going home – the way our Founding Fathers intended it to be.”
Thursday’s candidate forum was the first of the Republican gubernatorial Primary. Weh said he will bring an attitude change to Santa Fe by making state government work for the people.
“We have Band-Aids all over Santa Fe and no one with the will to make the hard decisions,” Weh said to much applause. “You’ve got a government that’s bloated and out of control. But by resetting it and realigning it, we’re going to have a budget under control and a government that works for you.”
The next candidate forum will take place in Albuquerque on Saturday night at CNM. It is hosted by the Albuquerque Tea Party.
“The function of state government is not what we are experiencing now in New Mexico. It’s unfriendly to business at best and anti-business at worst,” Weh said. “State government should not be strangling our businesses with irrational regulations. The government is us, and we own it. Our state government is out of control. And when I’m your governor, I will get it under control.”
