In case you missed it

Former State Sen. Don Kidd – R-Eddy, Lea, Otero – recently wrote a letter to Republicans in support of New Mexico businessman and gubernatorial candidate Allen Weh. In the letter, Kidd says he believes Weh “possesses both the credentials and the charisma to lead the Republican ticket to victory.”

Below is the letter.

I recently met a very interesting man.  He is a true hero, a successful businessman and a patriot. I am talking about Allen Weh, candidate for the Republican gubernatorial nomination.

Allen served in three wars, from Vietnam to Iraq, led Marines in combat, and was given assignments of significant responsibility throughout his 38 years of service in the U.S. Marine Corps.  Colonel Weh was recalled to active duty during the Persian Gulf War, for the U.S. expedition into Somalia, and to serve as Chief of Staff of Marine Forces Pacific prior to retiring in 1997.  When Allen went to Iraq in 2003, he was given a key leadership role with the creation and organization of the new Iraqi Army. He has been awarded the Silver Star, Bronze Star with “V”, three Purple Hearts, and five Air Medals.  In addition to these combat awards, he received the Legion of Merit and two Meritorious Service Medals.

Allen is also a successful businessman.  He serves as CEO of CSI Aviation Services, Inc., an international air charter and leasing company he founded in 1979.  As a successful businessman for thirty years, Allen personally knows what it takes to create jobs, meet payrolls, and balance budgets in tough times.  He also understands what bad government policies can do to hamper or destroy business growth and handicap efforts to attract new industry to New Mexico.

Allen is not a career politician; he is a man who wants to do a good job as a public servant.  I believe he possesses both the credentials and the charisma to lead the Republican ticket to victory.  He believes the key to success in all endeavors is to get up, do your job, and bring good people with you.

I would never try to tell you how to vote, but I would like to encourage you to get to know this man and see if you don’t find him as outstanding a person and as able a candidate as I do.  You can learn more about Allen on his website:  www.allenweh2010.com or befriend him on Facebook at www.facebook.com/allenweh2010.

Best regards,

Don Kidd
