Thank you for your support. Now we have another task at hand.

Dear Friend,

In our last correspondence, I told you we needed just $7,000 to exceed our first fundraising goal. I’m pleased to tell you that we reached our goal. People care about the direction our state is going, and it showed! If you have not yet contributed, there’s still time to make a difference and donate.

Your continued support is critical in moving forward to the next phase of our campaign!

We will also begin to have small events across New Mexico in the next few months. If you want to help support our “Coalition of the Willing” and host or attend an event, please contact Robert Perea at robert@allenweh2010.com.

While we met our first fundraising goal, we have another important task at hand: collecting 2,500 petition signatures by the end of December in order to get my name on the ballot. Most campaigns pay for part of this, but I’m not willing to waste precious donated dollars to pay for anything we can do ourselves (I’m going to take the same frugal attitude toward spending taxpayer money when I’m elected as your governor!).

If we want restore commonsense and integrity to New Mexico state government, it will take a little elbow grease. We all know at least 20 people. I challenge you to collect 20 or more signatures by the end of December.

Together, we can do this! We can take back our state and move it in a better direction!

If you don’t believe me, just look at the grassroots effort that just elected RJ Berry Mayor of Albuquerque. The people of Albuquerque chose a businessman and a fresh face instead of retaining a career politician to serve as their Mayor, and I’m confident the people of New Mexico want similar change in the statehouse.

Already our campaign is beginning to make headway. The Iraq Veterans for Congress, a national political action committee, announced this morning that it is endorsing me in my bid for governor of New Mexico. The organization endorses the best and strongest candidates who are in competitive and winnable races. I’m honored to receive support from a group of great Americans who have dedicated their lives to serving our country!

Finally, I want to thank each and every one of you who took the time to e-mail me your ideas on fixing our education system. We have received more than 100 responses, each one unique and insightful. My staff and I are in the process of reading through the many e-mails, hearing your suggestions and taking them to heart as we move forward in developing our plan to improve our schools and the opportunities available for all students.

Again, thank you for your responses and continued support of this campaign. We intend to win this for you!
